From November 25 to December 10 we are participating in 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, along with communities across the globe. Our theme will be “Violence Against Women: A Collective Call to Action.” During the 16 Days community members will have a chance to reflect on the struggles of women and girls within and against intersecting power systems, and express their “calls to action.” These will be displayed publicly, shared online, then compiled into a collective letter to our leaders. Display sites include the Paqtnkek Health Centre, People’s Place Library (Antigonish), and St. Francis Xavier University.
Join the campaign by visiting and contributing to the displays, posting and tweeting with the hashtag #MyCallToAction, and attending the Day of Remembrance and Action gatherings on December 4 at StFX from 1:00-2:30 (Council Chambers, Bloomfield Centre), and at 5:15 pm at St. James United Church. Stay tuned for updates during the 16 days!
